  越來越多身邊的朋友，開始步入人生的這個階段。

隨著年紀的增長，常常會有機會，
去參加朋友的婚禮，
而身邊交往許久的朋友們，
也逐漸開始產生了這樣的期待，
當然，也有不少的人，雖然單身，
但已經開始尋找這樣可以陪伴她在人生道路上行走的伴侶，

常常，
我都會想，
會不會太刻意去尋找這樣的對象，
反而越難得到，
而究竟又是什麼樣的對象，
才適合一起走入結婚的禮堂呢？

或許，
我們未必能確定怎樣的人適合自己，
但我相信，
兩人相處假若能互相禮讓，
互相著想，
能夠為了對方有所捨棄，
這樣為對方著想的心意，
或許，
就有機會有個美好的婚姻。

經營婚紗店的朋友，跟我抱怨：「現代年輕人，為什麼都不結婚？」我反問他：「你結婚這麼多年，從婚姻裡撈到什麼好處？」 不愧是頭腦轉得快的生意人，他立刻回我：「不能這樣精打細算的啦，太精明、太會算計的人，結不了婚！」他說對了。婚姻，能夠提供給比彼此的好處，真的太少了；能捨的人，才能結婚。

從前，婚姻提供兩人經濟生活的保障，婚姻提供彼此性愛歡愉的管道，婚姻提供雙方傳宗接代的名份……而這些保障、管道、名份，對現代年輕人而言，都未必需要。

兩人經濟學，只是便利商店打折的口號。一個人吃，絕對比餵飽兩張嘴要來得省。
當女人的經濟能力獨立、未婚也能夠很方便地享受性愛、養兒育女也不需要正式名份，婚姻就變成不是用來得到什麼的過程，而是願意割捨才能進入的修行。 


收入習慣都要讓步

考慮婚姻之前，應該先問自己：願意為了對方割捨些什麼？割捨部分的收入或財產，拿這些身外之物來和對方分享，只是最基本的讓步。走進婚姻最踏實的第一步，應該是願意放下自我偏執，願意為了看到伴侶的滿足而付出，至少有了這兩個願意，才能在禮堂前當著上帝的面發誓說：「我願意！」

例如：生性懶散的男人，願意為了女人的一夜好眠，放棄自己多年來睡前不愛洗澡的習慣。又如：必須節食半年的女人，願意為了男人的嘴饞，偶爾陪他去大啖美食，吃頓豐富的海陸大餐。

婚姻，不是用來得到什麼；而是用來讓你懂得割捨。與其說，婚姻是兩個人願意相守下半輩子的承諾；不如說，婚姻是你願意為了成全所愛的人而割捨自己某些自利行為的選擇。
